PhD Programme in Data Science

Ours is a fully-funded programme, providing PhD candidates with scholarships for three years of research and study. Every PhD researcher will receive supervision from two scholars with expertise in the field, at least one of whom is drawn from the Academic Board of the programme. The PhD includes a taught component, with advanced courses in data science, artificial intelligence, quantitative methods and research design, as well as training in academic and research skills. The programme is offered by the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data and Decision Sciences, which combines expertise in computer science, mathematics and statistics within a social sciences environment. We support research and fieldwork through funding for research periods abroad and cooperation with international partners. PhD candidates are encouraged to participate in seminars, workshops, summer schools and conferences, and to engage with the international academic community.
