About me: Sujith Jagannathan is a PhD candidate in Management at LUISS Guido Carli, Rome. His research examines hybrid organisations, social enterprises and other organisations that pursue a social mission while operating as viable businesses and how they hold their dual purpose together under conditions of crisis and polycrisis.
His dissertation asks how organisations that must balance competing social and commercial logics adapt when they face not a single disruption but overlapping, compounding shocks economic, political, humanitarian, and institutional pressures arriving at once. The work extends theory on hybrid organising and mission drift by examining what sustains, or unbalances, these organisations when the environment itself becomes unstable, pairing a conceptual foundation with qualitative, multiple-case fieldwork.
